Since 1936

Nearly ninety years on the same trade.

Crawford Door Sales has been the preferred choice for homeowners and businesses across Washtenaw, Wayne and Oakland Counties since 1936. We are locally and family owned, and we still work out of 334 E Michigan Ave in Ypsilanti.

What nearly a century of it teaches you

Skilled technicians bring decades of combined experience to every job, from a routine service through to a complete commercial installation. What we have learned over that time is mostly about doing the boring parts properly: proper installation, safety compliance, and solutions that last rather than quick fixes.

Every technician who turns up at your building is a direct Crawford Door employee. We do not subcontract. That is why we can be specific about how a job will be done, and it is why the same faces keep turning up at the same buildings year after year.

We work on all major brands and models, including doors from manufacturers we do not currently sell. We are members of the National Door Association, and our technicians hold Fork Truck and Man Lift credentials for commercial work at height.

Leadership

Brett Redwood, Vice President

Brett holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Lawrence Technological University and has more than eighteen years of hands on technical and executive experience in the overhead door industry.

The architecture background is not decoration. It shows up as a habit of thinking about a door as part of a building envelope rather than a product in a catalogue, which covers wind load, thermal performance and how the opening meets the structure around it.

He leads the commercial division, covering warehouses, logistics hubs, automotive facilities, retail centres and municipal buildings. That is sectional steel, rolling steel fire doors, bi fold storefronts, high speed impact doors, dock levellers and strip curtains.

On the residential side he helps homeowners match new doors to older and historic houses, using carriage house designs, panel styles and decorative hardware without giving up security. He also oversees the 24 hour emergency dispatch and technician safety training, covering OSHA, lift safety and high tension spring handling.
